Earlier this year, Life on Repeat released their debut album, 'Struggle + Sleep.' Recorded at Oceanic Recording Studios in Bethesda, Maryland, with Taylor Larson (Sky Eats Airplane, Of Legends), the record features one melodic hook after the other. Signed to Equal Vision, Life on Repeat have been out on the road since their album's release. Guitarist Andrew Baylis just sent us his contribution to Noisecreep's 'Five Albums That Changed My Life' series.

'Liberate Te Ex Inferis'
Zao (1999)
"Growing up, my mom would always bring home Christian rock CDs from this magazine that she was subscribed to. One of them that came my way was Zao's 'Liberate Te Ex Inferis.' It was the first time I had heard such heavy music, and being that young anything that made my parents mad was what I wanted to listen to. I ended up falling in love with the CD and that was when I started playing guitar, so it obviously impacted me as a musician as well."

Story of the Year (2003)
"Although I had grown up on a lot of heavier music, when I heard Story of the Year I instantly loved it. The combo of melodic singing over heavier guitars was pretty rare back then, and it really helped shaped my music taste, even to this day. After having the album I was hooked. Although I never got to see them live, seeing them on TV doing back flips really made me want to start playing shows. I tried to imitate their moves live with my first couple of bands and ended up being pretty hurt every night [laughs]."

'The Used'
The Used (2002)
"The Used's self-titled album came around the same time I found out about Story of the Year. It was also mainly singing, but the vocals were so aggressive it literally made me so hyped listening to it. That's the point in my life where I knew you could be aggressive without screaming over everything. That's something our band still lives by and maintains."

'Son, I Loved You at Your Darkest'
As Cities Burn (2005)
"This was another CD that took me by surprise. I would randomly find bands on labels with other bands I liked and just buy it. As Cities Burn's 'Son, I Loved You at Your Darkest' got delivered to my house that way and I instantly knew it would be my favorite album of all time. I had never heard guitar work like that before and it definitely left a lasting impression on me, as far as technique and tone goes."

'Futures'
Jimmy Eat World (2004)
"Although I'm not usually a fan of any music softer than a distorted Les Paul and Marshall amp, this album really did catch my ears. I heard it from a friend and told them it sucked, then secretly went home and downloaded it that night. I really couldn't have been more wrong, every song on it is perfectly written and the sound is so unique. It really made me a Jimmy Eat World fan for life and opened me up to even softer rock."
