Evile Find New Bassist In Joel Graham
The members of British thrash outfit Evile have found a new bassist following the untimely passing of the band’s late bassist, Mike Alexander, more than two months ago. The band received hundreds of emails from bassist interested in the gig, and even jammed with a few before finding a match in Joel Graham.
“This has been one of the most bizarre and surreal tasks we’ve ever had to undertake,” the band said in a statement, announcing the new addition. “It isn’t like Mike has decided to leave the band and we’re simply finding a new bass player. He was taken from us, and we were forced to replace him. In effect, we had to look for a new Mike, but that would never happen. He was one of a kind, and we’ll never forget him.”
Evile had to find a new bassist quick, given their upcoming touring schedule. They call the new bassist “excellent,” “experienced” and “a really nice guy. We’d all appreciate it if you gave him a warm welcome to the band, as this must be a bizarre situation for him to be in also.”
Alexander died on Oct. 5 while the band was on tour in Sweden with Amon Amarth. Medical examiners ultimately discovered the bassist died from a pulmonary embolism, a blockage of the main artery of the lung. Alexander appeared on Noisecreep’s second ever ”Creep Show’ podcast.
Evile’s statement continues, saying that they’ll “be getting some photos taken with him soon so you can see us with Joel. We just wanted to get the news out there that we have a new bassist, and that we thank each and every person for auditioning. Mike would be honored at the amount of respect and admiration you expressed to us through contacting us.”
Evile will hit the road for a European tour next month with Warbringer and the Fading.
