End of a Year"To best understand the material, work part time, make less than $20,000 a year, grow your hair out, live under constant threat of eviction." The list goes on and on -- the rules for proper enjoyment, as Patrick Kindlon speaks over the post-everything sound on the opening track of End of a Year's newest and latest album, 'You Are Beneath Me.'

With none of the usual forewarning (pre-orders and Internet Flash flare) 'You Are Beneath Me' is out now from Deathwish, baked in the usual grit, action and prose the New York-based band has been known for the past seven years, continuing in the spirit from when they first formed. "We wanted to play music we liked, so we got together and did it." Their history is simple but elegant.

With numerous splits, seven-inches and two previous full-lengths, End of a Year have gained enough scene cred being known as the band that bands listen to. This third long-player sees the quintet continuing in their boundless design, making the heavy part the emotions rather than the crunch of a pedal.
