Dream Theater’s Track Listing + Artwork Revealed for Self-Titled Album

Dream Theater are inching one step closer to their new album by revealing the disc's track listing and artwork. The collection is currently on the schedule for a Sept. 24 release via Roadrunner Records.

This nine-track effort includes two suites with multiple parts. 'False Awakening Suite' opens the album, with the three-part 'Sleep Paralysis,' 'Night Terrors' and 'Lucid Dream,' while 'Illumination Theory' closes the disc with the five-part 'Paradoxe de la Lumiere Noire,' 'Live, Die, Kill,' 'The Embracing Circle,' 'The Pursuit of Truth' and 'Surrender, Trust and Passion.'

Guitarist John Petrucci said of the effort, "I see every new album as an opportunity to start over. To either build or improve upon a direction that has been evolving over time or to completely break new ground. This is the first self-titled album of our career and there is nothing I can think of that makes a statement of musical and creative identity stronger than that." In addition to playing guitar on the record, Petrucci also oversaw the production during their sessions at Cove City Studio in Long Island, N.Y.

'Dream Theater' will be available in a variety of release options. You can check the Roadrunner Records webstore to place your pre-order in the format you prefer. Look for the band returning to the road in North America next year.
