Punk rock icons Bad Religion have already had a productive 2013, as their latest album 'True North' proves that their knack for crafting hard driving yet catchy melodies is still in full force. The band is spreading that take no prisoners approach through the holidays as their next work, 'Christmas Songs,' comes out Oct. 29.

Although they have performed their share of holiday songs over the years, studio versions of these tracks have never been recorded. The track listing includes the band's takes on such standards as 'Hark! the Herald Angels Sing,' 'O Come All Ye Faithful,' 'White Christmas' and 'Little Drummer Boy' among others.

"Bad Religion have threatened to record an album of seasonal classics for years, and now they've gone and done it, tackling eight chestnuts in their classic punk rock stye," said Epitaph Records in their press release. "From 'White Christmas' with its nod to pioneers The Ramones, to the glorious choirboy intro to 'Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,' 'Christmas Songs' is the record you need to get your holiday household's toes tapping. Nothing says Christmas like Bad Religion."

The ninth tune is a remix of the group's stellar cut 'American Jesus,' which is featured on their 1993 album 'Recipe for Hate.' How the outfit will put a yuletide spin on this infectious track is still unknown, but unpredictability, as well as sustained excellence, are two of Bad Religion's strongest attributes. Are you excited about Bad Religion's contribution to the holidays?
