Amorphis' video for 'Silver Bride' has a captivating back story, that's for sure. "It follows the storyline of the lyrics," guitarist Tomi Koivusaari told Noisecreep. "The story is about the blacksmith Ilmarinen, the forger of sky, who is forging himself a woman out of silver and gold, to replace his dead wife." The video was directed by Swede lenseman Owe Lingvall, whom the band met while they were toiling away in the studio. "We met him at Sonic Pump Studios a little bit earlier when we were recording the 'Skyforger' album, and he was shooting some Rasmus video at the time," the guitarist recalled.

The band managed to create a visually arresting video without spending a boatload of loot cakes in the process. All the band performance parts were shot in Helsinki at Angel Film Studios. "It was a very easy session for us and only took a few hours to do our parts. After that, we continued in Sweden, shooting those 'story' parts, with Ilmarinen forging, and of course special effects and post-production," Koivusaari said. "We are happy with it, as we didn't have too big of a budget for it either. Owe did great job in just so short period of time. If I have to find something negative to say, it would be that the video is quite masculine. Some female(s) would have been great, among all those old men! Who are they anyway?" You tell us, Tomi!

The band plans to shoot another video with Lingvall in a few months.
