Alter Bridge are back in a very big and large sounding way! The band, who are building up to their new album 'Fortress,' have unveiled the first taste of music from the disc in the form of the new single 'Addicted to Pain.'

In the teaser, posted above, the songs audio is interspersed with Alter Bridge performance footage and the occasional reminder that the song you're listening to is called 'Addicted to Pain.'

As for the track itself, Myles Kennedy's powerful vocal just cuts right through, while drummer Scott Phillips keeps the beat driving. Meanwhile, guitarist Mark Tremonti unleashes some impressive riffing in the track. It's exactly the high-energy rock punch you'd hope for from Alter Bridge and a stellar way to start off support of their new album.

Alter Bridge's 'Fortress' album is due Oct. 8 and features 12 songs. 'Addicted to Pain' lands second within the track listing, thus making it a key song in establishing exactly what the record is going to provide. Alter Bridge will tour in Europe this fall. North American dates have yet to be revealed.
