We've all been caught playing air guitar at least once in our lives. It's a little embarrassing and you try to go through the rest of the day like nothing ever happened. Bringing up the incident would be heresy. For those unashamed, there's actually a worldwide competition for air guitarists to duke it out!

In the early 1980s, metalheads would bring cardboard cut-outs of guitars to clubs and bars for a little fun competition eased along by adult beverages. Fast forward over 30 years and you've got people competing in air guitar competitions.
