Sole Remedy guitarist Mikko Laine was killed in a tragic and bizarre trucking accident in Holland on Sunday, Oct. 2. He was 30 years old.

Laine was apparently asleep backstage after performing at the ProgPower Festival in Baarlo when a vehicle loaded with stage equipment backed up over him. He was reportedly asleep next to a fence and died on the scene. Early reports suggested he had been killed in some other sort of accident.

Sole Remedy was formed in the late '90s and has released two studio albums to date – 2007's 'The Wounded Ones' and last year's 'Apoptosis.' The Finnish quintet describes themselves as a "progressive-melancholic-metal band." They were playing alongside bands like Symphony X, Mekong Delta and Long Distance Calling, among others.
