H2O have been diligently toiling in the hardcore scene since 1995, paying homage to the genre's ethos of family, community, and mosh-worthy breakdowns. This fall, the band will step it up a notch with 'Don't Forget Your Roots,' a covers album. H2O will tip their collective hats to influential bands like The Ramones, Dag Nasty, Gorilla Biscuits, 7 Seconds, Sick of it All, and Warzone. While the full track listing has yet to be announced, the band is already in the studio laying songs to tape with a planned fall 2011 release via Bridge Nine Records.

"Living at the GB house in Jackson Heights, Queens in 1988 and then singing back-ups on the [Gorilla Biscuits] 'Start Today' album was a huge part of my life," H2O vocalist Toby Morse told Noisecreep about his humble hardcore roots.

Morse also opened up about his choice to put the H2O stamp on Gorilla Biscuits' 'Cats and Dogs.' "I have been vegetarian since 1988 because of being inspired by my roommates -- Civ, Walter, and Alan Cage -- and to record 'Cats and Dogs' by Gorilla Biscuits, a song that truly got me into animal rights and becoming a hardcore vegetarian, is truly an honor."

We can't wait to hear what H2O do with 'Cats and Dogs' and what songs they choose to cover by Sick of it All and Dag Nasty.
