On the heels of the release of their self-titled album, Wovenwar have unleashed a hard-hitting performance-based video for the song 'All Rise.' The clip was directed by Scott Hansen (Whitechapel, Animals as Leaders) and shot in Los Angeles.

Wovenwar are the band that features former As I Lay Dying members Josh Gilbert (bass), Nick Hipa (guitar), Phil Sgrosso (guitar) and Jordan Mancino (drums) along with vocalist Shane Blay (Oh, Sleeper).

Gilbert spoke with AllMusic about 'All Rise,' stating, "That song, the lyrics were written by Shane and detail his past struggles in the music industry. A lot of people took them as relating to our situation, but it’s written by Shane and painting certain people in the industry as vampires who are there to suck the life out of you to make a buck."

The bassist continues, "That song is cool and anthemic because you can really apply the chorus to any sort of situation or whatever that you’re trying to overcome. That song came together really fast; it was the first song we had a proper demo for, and Shane came and stayed with me and we wrote the lyrics and melody for it in one night, recorded the whole thing, and it was the first moment where we really realized that things were going to work with the new band."

Fresh off a tour with Black Label Society that wrapped up earlier this week, Wovenwar kick off the first of three Southern California album release shows tonight (Aug. 7) in Anaheim before heading to Europe. You can check out all their dates here.
