Whitechapel Learn to Ride Harleys

A touring band's work is never done. Whitechapel checked in with Noisecreep while on their tour bus, en route to the first dates of the second annual Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest. The band was in Reno, playing a warm up show. Guitarist Alex Wade told Noisecreep, "We've been riding on this bus for about five days making our trek across the U.S. and we're itching to get on stage and do what we do best. We've been really busy preparing ourselves for this tour, even learning how to ride motorcycles, courtesy of Harley Davidson and their motorcycle riding training program."

Harleys? Are these Tennessee deathcore maniacs lusting for a life of living to ride and riding to live? Hardly! "Harley is a sponsor of the tour and they wanted to get us involved with what they do and teach us how to ride motorcycles so we can get M-class added to our licenses," Wade said. "The class was really enjoyable. It was a ton of fun and an easy, laid back experience. We all passed the course and did get our M-class added to our license, so we'll be able to ride Harleys on Mayhem."

In addition to getting their motorcycle licenses, the band has worked on refining its live set so they can "crush the crowd on Mayhem" and Wade and company have been writing new material. "We don't have any new songs quite yet, so don't get too excited," Wade teased. "We've got tons of new riffs and ideas we will soon be molding into new songs. We've got about 45 minutes worth of material that we'll be stripping down and changing stuff around to form new songs. If you were a fan of 'This Is Exile,' you're sure to love it." Wade promises that the new tunes will be as brutal and groove-centric as possible. And that's always a good thing.
