White Noise: The Latest on Iron Maiden, Brutal Truth, Marilyn Manson

Good morning, people. It's Tuesday, and we're psyched. It looks like it's going to be a gorgeous day here in Manhattan... the kind of day you want to call in sick. But we can't call in sick, because then, we'd be letting you down. And there's too much going on in the metal realm to take a day off. Later on today, we'll clue you in on which albums hit record stores this morning, and we'll be bringing you more exclusive streams, interviews, and news. We're Noisecreep... we're good like that.

+ Some unfortunate news out of Louisiana this morning. According to the DailyComet.com, yesterday morning, a 15-year-old student at Larose-Cut Off Middle School in the Lafourche Parish reportedly shot himself in the head on school grounds. The report claims the student turned the gun on himself after firing at (and missing) a teacher who refused to praise Wes Borland's buddy, Marilyn Manson.

The eighth-grader is said to be in critical condition, and did leave a suicide note behind, detailing a much bigger plot to kill others. Classmates told reporters they were stunned by the incident, and said the student had an affinity for Marilyn Manson and Adolf Hitler.

+ The new Behemoth LP, called 'Evangelion,' has been scheduled for release on August 11. Frontman Nergal says the album "combines a pure art form with a direct message. It was also important for us to ensure that the graphical presentation did justice to the record." Check out the album's art, which features the Great Harlot of Babylon riding the seven-headed beast.

+ If you haven't seen 'Iron Maiden: Flight 666' yet, you should. In the meantime, though, you can play an online video game, inspired by the documentary. The object of the game is to fly a plane around five different countries, dropping speakers in various towns, and turning its denizens into rock-loving lunatics.

+ The other day, we told you that Howard Stern prankster (and former Death and Iced Earth drummer) Richard Christy would be recording material this summer with producer du jour Jason Suecof. Now, Metal Blade has officially confirmed Christy's new project, which he's dubbed Charred Walls of the Damned. The project is actually a band, with Richard behind the kit, Suecof on guitars, Tim "Ripper" Owens on vocals, and Steve Digiorgio on bass.

+ Brooklyn Vegan broke some awesome news yesterday. According to the site, Brutal Truth will be performing July 31 at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple in New York, with Pig Destroyer and grind pioneers Repulsion. It will be Repulsion's first ever New York City gig.

+ Dutch melodic death metallers God Dethroned will be touring the continent with Abigail Williams, Woe of Tyrants, and Augury. The tour starts September 30 in Tucson, Arizona, and runs through October 20 in Rochester, New York. Head here for a complete list of dates.
