If you love heavy metal like we do, then you've come to the right place. And if you're looking for the latest metal news, look no further. This is White Noise, where we round up all of the news that rules each and every morning ... save for the weekends. Today's installment includes album notes, tour news, song previews and a link that made us scratch our heads in utter confusion (we didn't realize auto-tune could be applied to the genre of screamo). Here it is, you're a.m. injection of all the latest metal news, and it starts right now.

Pay attention, Slipknot fans. The masked ones will be hosting a one-day festival in their hometown of Des Moines, Iowa, on September 9. The show will feature two stages and a host of other bands, with Slipknot headlining the day's festivities. The second stage will feature all local bands. There's no additional information regarding the fest's lineup, but an official announcement will be made soon.

If you like football and/or video games, then you'll be picking up 'Madden NFL 10' no matter what. But it's the game's soundtrack that may attract the long of hair to the title. Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Helmet, Alice in Chains, Killswitch Engage, Mastodon, Pantera, Slipknot and System of a Down will all be featured in the game, which hits stores August 14.

The artwork for Megadeth's forthcoming album, 'Endgame,' has been released, and its ultra creepy. Sort of reminds us of something out of 'The Matrix' or a bad dream.

We love Pig Destroyer, too ... for all the reasons mentioned here. But also because of Blake Harrison's work with Hatebeak.

Wanna hear a new Slayer track? A limited-edition single of 'Hate Worldwide,' a Kerry King composition, will be sold as a CD-single exclusively at all Hot Topic locations starting today. If Hot Topic stores scare you, Shockhound is streaming a snippet of the new song.

You can also hear something from the new Winds of Plague LP. The band is streaming a new song, called 'Forged In Fire,' over on their MySpace page. The track features a guest appearance by Terror guitarist Martin Stewart. The band's new album, 'The Great Stone War,' will be in stores August 11.

Machine Head have been added to five of Metallica's winter tour dates. They'll join the band on December 5 in Las Vegas; December 7 in Boise, Idaho; December 8 in Sacramento, Calif.; December 10 in Anaheim, Calif.; and December 12 in San Jose, Calif.

Remember hardcore pioneers D.R.I.? Well, the band is preparing its return, and will start playing shows this fall. "We expect to start playing on weekends, then week-long mini-tours and eventually being able to tour again spring or summer 2010," the band says in a statement.

This is just odd. A one-man band, playing a live show, for a bunch of kids who would mosh to Peaches and Herb if they had to, and the dude uses auto-tune. Weird.

We told you a few weeks back that Evergreen Terrace drummer Kyle Mims had undergone surgery for a broken clavicle following a bike accident. Now, it seems, he's developed a pulmonary embolism in his lung which has once again sent him back to the hospital. Mims is temporarily being replaced by Casey Jones drummer Caleb James on the road, as Evergreen Terrace continues to tour in support of their upcoming album 'Almost Home,' which is in stores September 29.
