Watain Detained, Blessthefall Robbed, Iced Earth Bassist Quits + More

Gary Wolstenholme, Redfern

Watain detained! The band had to cancel the first five shows of their North American tour, set to kick off tomorrow (April 11.) Visa issues are the culprit. “It’s not the first time the law stands in our way trying to prevent us from doing our work, and just like all the previous times it will lay broken and humiliated eventually,” the band said in a statement. “We are content we will be victorious, meanwhile we ask all our U.S. supporters to have patience and prepare themselves for the coming of Watain.” You have been warned. Blessthefall were robbed in Montreal. The band issued a statement about what was jacked from their vehicle: “3 bags were stolen. Matt’s plaid black and white Hurley backpack, Elliott’s plain blac backpack and Dreds black Under Armor backpack. Contents were brand new MacBooks, iPods, a passport and the flipcam. So unfortunately there will be no tour video from this tour. If anyone has information about our stuff, please let us know. We were parked behind Foufs bar/club in Montreal.” What a nightmare! We hope they get their shit back and soon. [Lambgoat]

Don’t forget to stream In for the Kill‘s debut album This is the Sweetest Kind of Lie… You Are the Deadliest Surprise in its entirety as of today. The band is the brainchild of former Nothingface bassist Bill Gaal. You can buy it next Tuesday, April 17, if you like what you hear. [In for the Kill]
Iced Earth bassist Freddie Vidales will exit the band after a batch of shows in China this month. Luke Appleton will step in and play bass for the band to help it fulfill its hefty touring commitments. [Brave Words]

Listen to “Ideomotor,” a brand new song by The Agonist. It appears on the band’s third album Prisoners, which will be set free on June 5. [Guitar World]

You can sink your fangs into some new Vampires Everywhere! The band will release Hellbound and Heartless on June 19 via Hollywood Waste. It’s their second effort. [Century Media Press Release]
