Walking Papers, the blues-rock band featuring former Guns N' Roses bassist/current Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan and several Seattle music scene vets, such as vocalist/guitarist Jeff Angell (Post Stardom Depression and The Mission Position) and drummer Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees and Mad Season), are off the market. The band has signed a record deal with Loud & Proud Records.

It's interesting that the band has inked a record deal almost a year after making its official debut as a trio on July 22, 2012. The band has expanded and is now a quartet, with Benjamin Anderson on keys. In addition, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready has been known to sit in live with the band on occasion.

The group shared the good news via an official Facebook update, which you can read below. The band's album will be re-released on Aug. 6 in North America and you can see them on the Uproar tour, which launches a few days later.

Congrats to Walking Papers on the new label deal. That's the opposite of getting your walking papers!

Hey Folks, I've been getting alot of emails from people wondering why the Walking Papers
album is no longer on iTunes and other download sites around the world. Well, the reason is a good one: Walking Papers has recently signed a global deal with Tom Lipsky's new label, Loud & Proud Records, and our debut album is being re-released through Tom's label and Sony/BMG worldwide. The release dates vary around the globe, but for North America its August 6th (just about a month from now) and for Europe, South America, and the rest of the world, it'll be in the first week of October. Or rather, "Rocktober", as we say in Seattle. So, stay tuned for updates here, and we will remind you as the album comes out officially in your territories. And watch for us as we continue our world tour, bringing our live show to cities and countries around the world. We've had a really wonderful time playing all these amazing places, meeting new friends, and we want to sincerely thank everyone for coming to see us at these shows and festivals. North America, get ready for the Uproar Tour starting August 9th, featuring Alice In Chains, Janes Addiction, and Walking Papers! Thank you all so very much - Barrett, Jeff, Duff, and Ben.
