New Jersey's VTT experienced a scenario much like 'The Hangover' on their very first tour in New Orleans. But despite the drama, the band took it all in stride, and theycontinue to play their edgy brand of alt-metal in the East Coast wastelands.

"On our first tour, New Orleans was to be our halfway mark. The show was canceled, so we spent a day off in the Big Easy," guitarist Emir Erkal told Noisecreep. That's a worthwhile pursuit, since NOLA is so full of culture, especially for creative types looking for a good time. "We had joked before starting the tour that at some point we'd reenact the movie 'The Hangover,' wherein at least one of us would get lost in some act of depraved debauchery. Wandering the French Quarter that night culminated in a search party around 4 AM for a missing band member."

That certainly sounds like a scenario lifted from the film. But it gets worse -- and funnier. "Giving up the hunt around 5 AM, we returned to enjoy our posh hotel for at least one hour before sunrise and resuming the search and rescue," Erkal recalled. "Around 6 AM, there was a knock at the door. There stood our guy, and a clerk from the front desk asking, 'Do you know this guy?'

"No one at the front desk believed he was staying there. Did I mention stoner scum-bags at a posh hotel? He couldn't remember a room number, only '15th floor.' Apparently he woke up at dawn, in his socks (boots gone), no wallet, no wedding ring, souvenirs (including the feather boa) gone, left with only his driver's license, debit card and his 'I Support Single Moms' stripper T-shirt. The tour continued without further delay. A polite robbery indeed. It could have been worse!"

VTT's EP, 'Symptoms of Sin,' is out now. It was produced by Biohazard guitarist Billy Graziadei. The band continues to record and will continue to play New Orleans whenever possible.
