UPDATE: According to TMZ, Vince Neil was angered at the fan because the fan kept trying to grab him during the concert. The situation could've been even worse though, because later that night, TMZ reports that the fan who was booted showed up at the group's after-party and wanted "revenge." A rep for Inn of the Mountain Gods casino in New Mexico, where the concert was, tells TMZ, "During the post-performance party at the property, the intoxicated fan and his group of friends, who were also visibly inebriated, returned and continually attempted to get close to Vince." Thankfully, security blocked the booted fan and his friends from entering the private section where Neil was and they were escorted off the property.

Trying punch one of your fans who is in the front row at your concert is akin to biting the hand that feeds you, but that's just what Motley Crue singer Vince Neil did during a solo gig in New Mexico last weekend (Dec. 1).

It's not clear why Neil felt the need to chastise and take a swing at a fan, but it was all captured in the video below.

Mid-performance, Neil yells, "Get the fuck out of here" and then reaches down to punch the fan. He doesn't appear to have made contact with the offending concert attendee. The singer then makes some motions to security, presumably asking to have the fan removed.

That's a true WTF! moment. Maybe the fan was heckling the Motley Crue singer. Maybe he was taking photos or video illegally. Maybe he was picking his nose. We don't know and therefore can only speculate. The only thing we can say with any degree of certainty is that trying to cold cock a fan is a bad idea.

At least the fan walked away with a cool story.
