VH1 Classic is proclaiming 11-11 as the 2nd annual “National Metal Day,” a day-long celebration of all things metal.

The lead-up to National Metal Day begins Thursday, Nov. 1 at 8 PM*, featuring concerts and documentaries from some of the greatest names in hard rock and heavy metal, and includes the premiere of “America’s Hard 100,” a viewer-voted countdown of the top 100 hard rock songs of all time.

With over 1.4 million online votes cast and hosted by metal singer and former pro wrestler Chris Jericho “America’s Hard 100″ airs each night at 9 PM* starting Nov. 1, and concludes with the viewers’ top 10 hard rock and heavy metal songs on November 10. The entire 10 hour countdown will re-air on 11-11 beginning at 10 AM *.

On “National Metal Day” catch-up with “That Metal Show” hosts Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine as they look back at 11 seasons of full-throttle head banging and trash-talking with the first ever “That Metal Special.” Watch as the metal-head trio returns to New York where it all started to sit down to talk with legendary hard-rockers Sebastian Bach of Skid Row and Paul Daniel “Ace” Frehley of KISS. “That Metal Special” premieres at 8 PM* on 11-11.

Rounding out the night on “National Metal Day” at 9 PM* is the premiere of the epic concert film Judas Priest at the US Festival 1983, a classic throw-back set at the famed 1983 San Bernadino, Calif.-based hard-rock fest. Airing immediately after is an encore of the 2009 rock doc, Iron Maiden: Flight 666.

Throughout the 10-day lead up, VH1 Classic will also be airing a collection of concerts, docs and movies featuring the biggest names in hard rock, as well as encore episodes of That Metal Show and Metal Evolution. For more information on VH1 Classic and “National Metal Day,” visit VH1Classic.com.
