Vader Unveil Album Art + Track List for Upcoming Album; Release Lyric Video From New EP

Polish death merchants Vader are set to release their 11th studio album, The Empire, on Nov. 4 through Nuclear Blast. The band has finally released more details about the album, including the stunning cover art and track listing. With the Iron Times EP released in mid-August, a taste of what's to come can be heard in the lyric video for "Prayer to the God of War" which can be found at the bottom of the page.

The album will boast 10 tracks of Vader's signature brand of no frills death metal and frontman Piotr's unmistakable death growl. The artwork is symbolic of the band's sound — full on heavy artillery — as a cloaked, skull-faced figure sits on an weaponry arsenal of a throne, almost like a war-themed version of the Iron Throne from the hit television series Game of Thrones.

Commenting on the album cover, Piotr offered, "Here is the cover art for The Empire created by Joe Petagno himself! The whole design includes many details connected to the main theme influencing me before and during the process of recording: war and the 'cold crisis' around us today... There are also links to couple of famous movie series, which influence the generations and erupt with violence, hate and 'imperial tendencies'... Is this just a fantasy or maybe a sign of the 21st century generation? You have to answer that in your own... and the future will show us how real that feeling is."

The Iron Times EP brought two new tracks alongside two covers, including a hair-raising version of Motorhead's "Overkill." Side A of the EP wields two tracks that will also be featured on The Empire, though the track listing for the full length indicates it will be a different version than the one heard below. "Prayer to the God of War" is exactly what any Vader fan could hope for from the veterans, who never seem to lose any steam. Thrashier than the typical Vader song, the sound harkens back to The Beast era of the group and songs like "Dark Transmission."
