Since the passing of Type O Negative's Peter Steele in 2010, we haven't heard much from guitarist / singer Kenny Hickey. That's all set to change with the formation of Silvertomb, the latest group to feature Hickey alongside some other recognizable faces.

The band is rounded out by Hickey's Type O bandmate Johnny Kelly (drums), as well as Hank Hell (bass, ex-Seventh Void), Joseph James (guitar, ex-Agnostic Front, Inhuman) and Aaron Joos (keyboard, guitar and backing vocals, Awaken the Shadow, Empyreon). Hickey described Silvertomb's sound as "heavy, dark and spiritual — like a dark gospel" and a teaser clip can be heard directly below.

For those looking to catch Silvertomb live, the group will make their onstage debut on Aug. 26 at the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey. The event will be held as part of the New Jersey Ride for Dime, which helps support charities that were of interest to Pantera legend Dimebag Darrell. Other acts set to perform include Frost Coalition, Black Water Rising, Ikillya, Alekhine's Gun (featuring Orange Is the New Black star Jessica Pimentel) and plenty more (see poster below).

"I'm really looking forward to taking in part in the New Jersey Ride For Dime. It's gonna be a great event with a lot of cool bands all playing for charity and for celebrating the music and life of Dime! I'm excited about debuting the new band Silvertomb at RFD as well. Thanks to Rita Haney & the RFD organizers for the invite. Rock 'n' roll, bikes and booze! What more could you want? See you on the 26th!" commented Johnny Kelly.

Hickey added, "I've never had a bad show at Starland Ballroom. The energy is always there and the sound on and off stage is great. I couldn't think of a better place for our first performance." For more information on the event, head to this location.

Following the dissolution of Type O Negative, Kelly has remained active in multiple projects. He's served as Danzig's drummer between 2005 and 2007, returning again in 2008 where he's remained since, and also cut two albums with power metal outfit Seven Witches since joining in 2012. The skinsman also replaced Vinny Appice in Kill Devil Hill in 2014, but has yet to record with the group.
