Trondr Nefas, guitarist/vocalist of Norwegian black metal band Urgehal, has died suddenly at the age of 35.

The news of the musician's passing comes directly from Season of Mist, Urgehal's record label who posted the following message on its official Facebook page: "We are deeply sorry to announce that Urgehal guitarist/vocalist Trondr Nefas just passed away. More news and official statement to follow soon. RIP."

No further details, or cause of death, have been released yet.

Urgehal was co-founded by Nefas in Hønefoss, Norway in 1992. The band's savage brand of Satanic black metal brought them a worldwide cult following. Urgehal's discography features a slew of EPs, compilation appearances and six studio albums. The group's most recent release is 2011's Death Is Complete EP.
