With the release of their latest album 'Vengeance Falls' just over a month away, Trivium have unleashed the first video from the record, 'Strife.' The clip, which premiered on Revolver, was directed by Ramon Boutviseth, who has directed previous Trivum videos including 'Shattering the Skies Above' and 'Throes of Perdition.'

The video for 'Strife' is mostly a performance clip, with a few shots of things like snow-capped mountains and fire making brief appearances. It alternates between color and black and white, with quick cuts of band members doing their thing. The camera lingers a little longer on frontman Matt Heafy, but the rest of the band gets plenty of exposure, although in very brief shots.

The song itself has some Metallica influences along with modern elements, and turns into a downright shredfest in the middle with a couple of ripping guitar solos. Heafy channels James Hetfield on some of the vocals, but varies his delivery and adds the distinctive Trivium flavor to the track.

'Vengeance Falls,' produced by Device and Disturbed frontman David Draiman, is set to be released Oct. 15. Fans will get to hear new and classic material when Trivium kick off their fall tour with DevilDriver, After the Burial and Sylosis on Thursday (Sept. 12) in Boise, Idaho.
