Earlier this week, Tool fans were left to wonder whether the tour dates that appeared briefly on Ticketmaster's website were legit. It turns out they were, and next month, the prog-metal kings will hit the road for their first tour since the summer of 2010, Blabbermouth.net reports.

The band kicks off its run Jan. 14 in Reno, Nev., and will continue through at least Feb. 8, when it stops in Duluth, Ga. While additional dates are possible, frontman Maynard James Keenan is slated to begin making the rounds with his Puscifer side project on Feb. 23.

The Ticketmaster incident wasn't the only recent bit of Tool-related Internet confusion. According to Blabbermouth.net, a recent report suggesting the group was at work on the follow-up to 2006's '10,000 Days' turned out to be false, as the sessions referenced were actually for drummer Danny Carey's side project.
