The Things They Carried, ‘364 Day Anniversary’

Long Island's The Things They Carried have been busting their butts these past couple of years. After releasing an EP entitled 'Attention Crisis' in 2009, the band hit the road hard and played anywhere that would have them. After grinding it out through the beginning of 2010, that summer they headed to Washington state to work with Casey Bates (Chiodos, Pierce the Veil) on what would eventually become their debut album, 'There's Something I Can't Tell Anyone.'

Ever since then, The Things They Carried has been spending a lot of time in their tour van, crisscrossing across America. Next they'll be headlining a headlining trek they're calling The Nightmare Before Thanksgiving.

The Things They Carried vocalist-guitarist Steve Schwartz gave Noisecreep the lowdown on '364 Anniversary':

"The song was written about a girl that I dated and the relationship that we went through. It was a relationship gone sour. The song talks about the confusion of breaking up, why we have to go our separate ways. For some reason it just doesn't work, we keep on fighting but we're not sure why, and we know it's just not going to work. It's basically just a chapter in my life put to music. I feel like we've all been through these kinds of situations. The song is titled '364 Day Anniversary,' because we broke up a day before our year anniversary.
