The journey for most bands is filled with highs and lows. And that's definitely the case for The Sword, who will go from promoting their High Country album over the past year to shifting gears for their new Low Country offering.

After nine months on the road, the band returned to the studio to experiment with the songs from High Country, seeing if they could deliver more stripped back, acoustic renditions of the tracks from the disc. Bassist Bryan Richie produced and J. Robbins mixed the effort, which proved successful, and fans can now look forward to the High Country companion Low Country arriving on Sept. 23.

High Country was led by the title track, which served as the album's primary single. Meanwhile, the songs "Empty Temples," "Mist and Shadow," "The Dreamthieves" and "Early Snow" were among the preview tracks prior to High Country's August 2015 release.

After the trip into the studio, The Sword will be back on the road this fall. They have a mix of support shows for Opeth along with their own headlining dates. See their full North American tour itinerary for the fall below.
