The Haunted, ‘Road Kill’ — New Album, DVD

It only took seven years, but it looks like 'Road Kill,' the follow-up to the Haunted's 2003 DVD 'Caught on Tape,' will easily live up to fans' expectations. 'Road Kill' is scheduled for release on June 8 and will be composed of 130-minute DVD and a 74-minute CD (also available separately).

The DVD features an in-depth road documentary on the veteran Swedish thrash band, 10 songs from a February 13, 2009 concert in Amsterdam's Melkweg and videos for 'All Against All,' 'No Compromise, 'The Flood,' 'The Drowning,' 'Moronic Colossus' and 'Trenches.' The CD features the full 16-song live show mixed and mastered by the band's longtime producer Tue Madsen (Sick of It All, Dark Tranquility) as well as five rare outtakes from the 'Versus' album sessions. The CD track, 'Little Cage,' can be heard on the band's MySpace and a DVD trailer is available.

The Haunted will launch a European tour May 7 in Skövde, Sweden. On May 26 they'll join Slayer in Leeds, England for dates that run through Aug. 5 in Zurich, Switzerland. The band will start tracking the follow-up to 2008's 'Versus' this fall, and the album is tentatively scheduled for release in early 2011.
