They may be a metalcore band by day -- or night, if you are thinking of them in the context of their concerts -- but the Devil Wears Prada have been transformed into zombie-slaying superheroes in a full-sized, authentic, 14-page comic book that accompanies their new 'Zombie' EP, which exclusively hits Hot Topic stores on Aug. 24.

"We wanted to do something fun for EP packaging and pre-order deals, and the whole zombie idea seemed to be a parallel with a comic book," vocalist Mike Hranica told Noisecreep. "We thought it would be a fun packaging item instead of a t-shirt and a comic book works so well with zombies. It has a lot of potential for fan enjoyment so we had this comic put together."

The Zombie bundle can be pre-ordered by fans who want the drop on all the undead action.

J.L. Bourne, who penned 'Day by Day Armageddon -- A Zombie Novel,' wrote 'Zombie, the EP Comic' for TDWP. It was illustrated by Kevin Mellon, noted for his 2007 book 'Gearhead,' which is currently in development as a major motion picture.

"We thought doing a comic book as a companion to the 'Zombie' EP was a natural and fitting idea," Hranica -- whose concept for a zombie-themed disc was rooted in his having read 'The Zombie Survival Guide' by Max Books late last year -- said in an official statement. "We love that 'Zombie, the EP Comic,' is not a CD-booklet, but a full-sized, stylized, superhero comic book that stands on its own."
