KIller Lyrics: Treading of the winepress / Blood to the horses' bridle / The wrath of God fully revealed

Strike First Records' newest signing, the Burial, released 'The Winepress' this week, their first full-length. "The lyrics aren't something you'd expect to find in your favorite CCM artist's songs," vocalist David Marshall told Noisecreep, referring to the contemporary Christian music industry. "But we made sure to line up all of our songs with scripture so that not only can you enjoy (we hope) some good metal, but be spiritually edified at the same time."

The lyrics to 'The Winepress' deal with the fact that God loves his holiness and truth so much that he prophesied from the beginning that he would judge the world according to his righteousness.

If you didn't infer from the South Bend, Ind. band's label, the lyrical quote or Marshall's commentary on his lyrics, the Burial is a Christian band. The title track's song, quoted above, is about God's judgment of humanity. "It's a side of God people don't like to comprehend, but it's the truth and it's time that we awaken as the body of Christ to God's full character and not what we want him to be," Marshall explained.

Marshall urged people to contact him and the band through their MySpace page. "While we are imperfect and in need of grace like everyone else," Marshall said, "our aim for this ministry is not only to proclaim the gospel, but to help others understand what that gospel is. Even if you only need prayer or you want to tell us how wrong we are, we're here for that, as well. We love you and hope to see you on the road soon."

The Burial have a CD release show for scheduled for Aug. 21 in Bristol, Ind.
