Fire up the fall brutality…The Black Dahlia Murder have announced they will embark on a North American tour in support of their upcoming album, Nightbringers. Suffocation, Decrepit Birth, Necrot and Wormwitch will join them on the run, which kicks off Oct. 6 in Rochester, N.Y. winding its way through the States and Canada before closing out Nov. 11 in Louisville, Ky.

The Black Dahlia Murder will release their eighth LP, Nightbringers, Oct. 6 via Metal Blade Records, coinciding with the start of the tour. Yesterday the band announced plans for the release, which comes in a variety of formats that can be viewed on the official Metal Blade page. They also released a video for the title track, which can be viewed below.

Nightbringers is an apt title for the disc, given the band’s fascination with the night time. “Death metal and nighttime are synonymous to me,” vocalist Trevor Strnad stated. “We are the rulers of the darkened hours that the Christian good fears. A lot of archaic ideas that are still upheld – such as marriage and monogamy – came from Christianity, whether people want to acknowledge it or not, and to me, death metal has always been bucking that. It’s ‘being-the-villain music,’ because we’re the enemy of Christianity, the enemy of all that is good and traditional. Death metal is for free thinkers, it’s for showing people the path to inner strength and operating on your own will, instead of being told what to do and living in fear, and songs like the title track and ‘Kings of the Nightworld’ are about leading a legion of awakened minds into battle.”

Currently, The Black Dahlia Murder are co-headlining 2017 The Summer Slaughter Tour with Dying Fetus, plus Oceano, Origin, Slaughter to Prevail, Rings of Saturn, Betraying the Martyrs and Lorna Shore as support. This trek sees the band performing the album Nocturnal in its entirety, for the record’s 10-year anniversary.
