The Amity Affliction, ‘Open Letter’ (LIVE VIDEO PREMIERE)

Australian post-hardcore specialists The Amity Affliction just cut a killer video down under for their new single, "Open Letter." And Noisecreep is the only place you can see it!

We also spoke with bassist/vocalist Ahren Stringer about the video, life on the road and his first concert experiednce. "Open Letter" appears on Chasing Ghosts, The Amity Affliction's 2012 album.

Ahren, set the clip up for us - talk about where it was shot and what the moment was like for you guys.

The clip was shot at the Palace Theatre in Melbourne. It was an incredible feeling playing there for the first time and also one of the first times playing this song live!

What videos did you pay attention to growing up?

Anything punk, whenever they'd have punk specials on MTV I'd tape them and watch them over and over, bands like Guttemouth, NOFX, Pennywise, Descendents, etc.

What was the first live show you witnessed as a fan?

Millencolin on their Pennybridge Pioneers tour at the Arena in Brisbane when I was 13. I couldn't believe how many other people were just like me, having fun and going wild! And every band was incredible! I crowd surfed for the first time too, what a night!

Tell what are some of the best things about being on the road?

Hanging out with friends, playing shows, seeing new places, meeting new people, and partying!

How about some of the worst things?

Shitty food, hangovers, shin splints, getting homesick, and getting rundown. The road can be pretty rough at times.

What did you think of fan response to the new record?

We were absolutely amazed at how well it was received. Couldn't be happier, I think we've helped a lot of kids through some hard times and that means a lot to us.
