Texas Hippie Coalition Unveil ‘Hands Up’ Lyric Video + ‘Highway Robbery’ Tour Dates

Texas Hippie Coalition have had this week circled on their calendars for quite some time. The band is about to bolster their support of the ‘Peacemaker’ album in a big way. First off, the new single ‘Hands Up,’ arrives at radio this week with the lyric video for the track also surfacing. Then the week will end with the boys kicking off their ‘Highway Robbery’ tour.

The band will be joined on the run by Eve to Adam, who are also working out the final details on their upcoming disc. The trek launches July 13 in Birmingham, Ala. and runs through Aug. 16 in Abilene, Texas. Texas Hippie Coalition have an extra date beyond their Eve to Adam shows, as they will take part in the “Ride for Dime” festivities at Dallas’ legendary hotspot Trees on Aug. 17.

As for the new lyric video for ‘Hands Up,’ Texas Hippie Coalition has gathered together some great black-and-white footage from old westerns with the lyrics scrawling over the screen. The footage is appropriate given the chorus for the song is, “I need everybody to get your hands up / I said reach for the sky / Everybody get your hands up / Let me see ya holdin’ ‘em high / And I need everybody to reach for the sky.” The single also features a self-referential shout out, as well as mentioning “Waylon whisky” and “Willie weed,” references to two of Texas’ finest outlaw music legends.

You can get the ‘Peacemaker’ album, as well as other Texas Hippie Coalition merchandise, at the band’s webstore.
