Ted Nugent, Secret Service: Feds ‘Aware’ of Rocker’s Incendiary Statements About President Obama
Yesterday, conservative rocker Ted Nugent grabbed headlines across the country, thrilling some and enraging others with his tirade — “We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November” — against President Obama and the “vile,” “evil” members of his administration. Among those who evidently saw the story: the Secret Service.
The news didn’t bother Nugent, Ultimate Classic Rock reports, and in a call-in interview with radio host Dana Loesch, the gun-loving, perpetually camo-clad guitar god refused to back down on his statements, which came during an NRA meeting in St. Louis.
“The Secret Service are my buddies; they work for me,” he said. “I pay their salaries.”
As he explained, he trains with members of the Secret Service in Texas, where he “conducts federal marshall raids.” Responding to the controversy that has erupted following his anti-Obama rant, Nugent likened himself to a “black Jew at a Nazi-Klan rally,” adding, “And there are some power-abusing, corrupt monsters in our federal government that despite me because I have the audacity to speak the truth.”
He said his NRA speech was “100 percent positive” and insisted he doesn’t pose a violent threat.
“I’ve never in my life threatened anyone’s life,” he said. “I’m incapable of threatening anyone’s life.”
