Yesterday (May 24), the legendary Slash busted out his inner Jimi Hendrix by performing the national anthem on guitar at the NHL playoff game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Chicago Blackhawks at the Staples Center in L.A.

The cat was let out of the bag a few weeks ago that Aerosmith and Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators would be teaming up for a summer tour. Slash and a couple of Aerosmith members confirmed the pairing via Twitter. Now the cities and dates for the trek have been announced (see below).

Slash will headline Rock N 2 Remember, a benefit show designed to help raise funds for several charities for firefighters and victims of the recent blazes in Arizona.

In an interview with the Salt Lake Tribune, Slash mentioned that he and his bandmates are working on a new album. He said he’s currently writing new material that he’ll send to frontman Myles Kennedy to work on and that a 2014 release is definitely a possibility.
