Everyone's got that one band that started them down the left-hand path of enlightenment, to their ultimate heavy metal nirvana. For some people, it was Kiss; for others, Black Sabbath. The times, they are a-changing, and nowadays it very well may be a band like Shadows Fall or Mastodon that lures the young folk in and teaches them the ways of the riff...

It's Tuesday, and the rain is coming down hard here in New York. After cruising the Interwebs all morning, looking outside at what's undoubtedly going to be a dreary day, we're feeling bad for ESPN's Erin Andrews. By now, you've heard there's a video making the rounds, of her getting undressed in her hotel room, and we're not above taking advantage of the search traffic...

Yesterday afternoon, the Noisecreep office was graced by the presence of Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott, who is a bona fide riot. He's also crazy tall, which we never knew before. Def Lep's tour with Cheap Trick and Poison kicked off this week, and tomorrow in Hamburg, New York, the band will be honored by city officials...

Some days, White Noise is something of a hodgepodge of metal news, covering acts from the 1980s through the 1990s and into this current decade. Other days, its sort of like an Ozzfest lineup; rife with big names everyone knows and/or heavy metal newcomers with really long, really confusing names...

Well, Bretgate isn't over yet. That much-promised statement from Bret Michaels, concerning his recent appearance at last Sunday's Tony Awards, during which a descending stage prop essentially kicked Bret's butt, has finally been released, and it's a winner...
