Operation: Mindcrime, the new band created by singer Geoff Tate after his falling out with Queensryche, have released a video for their new song “Re-Inventing the Future.”
Earlier this week, Queensryche and their former frontman Geoff Tate revealed that a settlement had been reached that detailed each act's future plans concerning the name. The remaining members of the band will retain the name, while Tate has obtained the right to perform the group's 'Operation: Mindcrime' album and its sequel. After some very public feuding, it appears as though Queensyrche and their former frontman Geoff Tate have come to an amicable split. While nothing was confirmed as of last week, it was noticeable that Tate's website was now billing him as "The Voice of Queensryche," suggesting that the long-rumored settlement had been finalized.
The legal battle between Geoff Tate and his former Queensryche bandmates has extended beyond a year, but the singer says that he hopes that everything will be decided upon shortly for everyone involved.
Randy Gane, the keyboardist for the Geoff Tate-led version of Queensryche, suffered a heart attack on Boxing Day evening and is currently recovering. It's unclear if the musician remains in hospital or has since been released.
