This is a pretty heady time for newbie band Sworn In, as their debut album 'The Death Card' comes out Aug. 20. Fans who pre-order the album at the iTunes Store will also receive an instant download of their single 'Hypocrisy' and will only have to pay $7.99 for the collection. Hailing from Chicago, these bandmates are hoping to bring a bit of their Midwest flair across the States next month.

Although the metalcore outfit has already released the EPs 'Catharsis' and 'Start/End,' their true staying power will be determined with their debut release as well as their August road trek. Having just played the Skate and Surf Festival and a tour with such acts as For The Fallen Dreams and Hundredth, the band's first stop is in Burnsville, Minn. (Aug. 19, The Garage). Sworn In will also travel to Detroit, Mich. (Aug. 22, The Shelter) and Hartford, Ct. (Aug. 24, Webster Underground) before a final stop in Indianapolis, Ind. (Aug. 31, Emerson Theater).

As for the intent for their upcoming CD, the band tweeted a rather imposing message to their fans, saying the following: "We don't want this CD to make you feel pissed off. we want it to make you feel like you're insane."

Recorded in Nashville, 'The Death Card' is described as a 13-track concept album that, according to singer Tyler Dennen, deals with a person's slow descent into madness. "I wanted the flow of the songs and lyrics to show how this character loses his mind more with each track," said Dennen. "By the time the album ends, he's accepted his fate."
