Swarm of Arrows Do Some Serious Damage on ‘Alive Like Death’ (FREE MP3)

Dullest Records

“Who are Swarm of Arrows?,” you ask.

Well, they’re a quartet hailing from Philly that play a lean and mean type of metal that fans of Clutch, Kylesa and Converge will go nuts for.

On Nov. 23, Swarm of Arrows will release an album called The Great Seekers of Lesser Life and Noisecreep can’t recommend it enough.

Noisecreep is honored to bring you the premiere and free MP3 download of “Alive Like Death,” a track off the forthcoming album. Listen to the track, and check out choice excerpts from our chat with Swarm of Arrows guitarist/vocalist Keats, below!

On what genre Swarm of Arrows falls under:

“We just call it heavy music. It’s really just a conglomeration of years of influences. We all love different types of heavy (and other) music. From a playing standpoint we come from a hardcore/punk/metal background – some of us have more of one than another. We set out to continue on that path, while consciously trying not to paint ourselves into a corner. At this point, we’re not trying to be some crazy, experimental, art project – not that there’s anything wrong with that. But at the same time, we don’t want to put a lot of limitations on ourselves or be afraid to try something different. We just try to make music we think we would like to hear or connect to. After all, we’re fans first.”
On “Alive Like Death”:

“It’s a rocking heavy tune! I don’t know… A lot of my lyrics have multiple meanings. For this song, on the surface it’s about living an apathetic lifestyle – which almost seems trendy, and that’s sad. It’s just my outward take on that. But the song is fun – it’s one of my favorites on the record and it has a ripping solo!”

On working with producer Will Yip (Circa Survive, Title Fight):

“Working with Will was nothing less than amazing. To start, he’s just a solid human being. We didn’t even know him at all going in, but from the day we walked into the studio, you’d think we were best friends with him for years. So that made the process of making the record so much easier. We had sent him some demos and he was real into it. We had a lot worked out beforehand, but Will was definitely very instrumental in the process. From there it was just taking care of business. He knows his stuff and he knew what we wanted. We were all happy in the end, and we made a life long friend in the process. Win!”

The Great Seekers of Lesser Life will hit stores on Nov. 23 via Dullest Records. Head here for more info on the album. Oh yeah, you can also download the group’s self-titled debut album for FREE at their Bandcamp page!
