In November, the metal world received news that Eyehategod frontman Mike IX Williams was awaiting a liver transplant after being diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in December of 2014. Fans have pooled together over $70,000 to help the New Orleans legend with medical bills and with the transplant a success, more aid is on the way in the form of a string of benefit shows.

Seemingly every act in the metal hotbed of New Orleans will be hitting the stage at either Siberia or Poor Boys between Feb. 3 and 5, billed as the "IX Lives IX Lives For the Sick Benefit." Among the bands slated to perform are Superjoint, Crowbar, Goatwhore, Flesh Parade, Child Bite, Thou, Classhole and even Eyehategod with yet-to-be-announced guest singers and tickets can be purchased here.

Event specific posters and shirts (seen below, purchase here) will also be on sale and available to those unable to attend the benefit with all the proceeds going to Williams' medical bills.

The design was created by Nate Burns of Revolting Worship, who commented, "It was an absolute honor to contribute art to this incredible event as a thank you to Mike IX Williams and Eyehategod whom have played a pivotal role in exposing me to the music and visual art that has inspired me in my own creative endeavors for years."

The Eyehategod singer provided an update on his condition, stating, "So honestly, I'm procrastinating because I'm waiting to write something introspective and creative blah blah blah, but truth be told and blessed be, I am recovering from massive brutal surgery at a speedy rate and exactly where I want to be! Doctors are happy with my progression. Thanks to everyone who's donated and contributed. Please continue to spread the word of these benefits, as there is a long road of medical expenses to be accounted for..."

Fans wishing to donate to the cause can also make a contribution to the YouCaring page which was established to assist Williams with his medical expenses.
