Summer Slaughter Dates Leak, Megadeth to Play Classic Album in Its Entirety + More

Christie Goodwin, Redferns

Summer Slaughter dates have leaked. With Cannibal Corpse, Between the Buried and Me and Job for a Cowboy on the docket, it’s going to be a long, hot, sweaty, dirty, loud and suffocating summer. Just like we like it. [Lambgoat]

Megadeth will perform its 1992 album, Countdown to Extinction, in its entirety on September 7 at Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile, to celebrate its 20th anniversary. [Megadeth.com]

Rock goddess Lita Ford will drop Living Like a Runaway on June 19. The cover image has been posted, and Lita looks like a blonde badass, standing on railroad tracks with her trusty guitar. The release is available in four different formats, too. You can never have enough or too much Lita in your life. [Blabbermouth]

Metal Blade will release The Corey Smoot Experience record When Worlds Collide. The songs were originally meant for a concept album called Religion is Fiction, where the late GWAR guitarist was going to lay down all the tracks and then get some of his favorite singers from the Richmond metal scene to do vocals, including GWAR lead singer Dave Brockie and Lamb of God‘s Randy Blythe. Smoot eventually recorded the vocals himself. Upon his death last year, the Smoot Family Fund was established to help provide for his family. All proceeds from this album will be donated to this fund. [Metal Blade]

Kataklysm have posted the video for “Iron Will” from their new double CD + DVD The Iron Will: 20 Years Determined. It’s due out July 3, so this vid is just a taste of what’s to come and what has been! [YouTube]

Paradise Lost‘s new album Tragic Idol is streaming online in its entirety the day before release. Check it out now and decide if you want to nab a copy of this delightfully doom and gloom opus tomorrow (April 24). [Decibel]

Philadelphia’s Rumpelstiltskin Grinder will issue their self-produced third album Ghostmaker via Candlelight on June 19. Vocalist/bassist Shawn Riley warned, “Ghostmaker represents everything we have worked towards for the past several years. When the album drops it will be obvious that this is something created by four dudes thirsty for blood, eager to silence all the critics, and to crush all the lames.” Yikes! Guitarist Ryan Moll also stated, “This album is our fastest, darkest, and most relentless album yet. It will contain some of the most bone-crushing, graveyard stomping, Frankenstein/Dracula/Wolfman hate-fuck riffage written thus far.” Heed the warning. [Candlelight Press Release]
