Suicide Silence Plot Digital EP ‘Sacred Words’
Suicide Silence don’t need a full album to get some buzz going. No, all they need is to showcase a couple live versions of their best cuts off their last album You Can’t Stop Me. The Sacred Words EP is due Oct. 23 via Nuclear Blast and features the studio version of the title song as well as live versions of “Inherit the Crown” and “Cease to Exist” and a remix and instrumental version of the EP’s title track.
The live tracks are taken from the band’s Aug. 9, 2015 set at RockPart Festival in Hungary. The live element is where Suicide Silence excel and fans are sure to mosh a little bit harder than usual in their bedrooms with these hard-hitting versions of new, but beloved songs. The instrumental version is almost certain to see fans uploading vocal covers like deathcore karaoke.
You Can’t Stop Me is the first Suicide Silence album to feature former All Shall Perish frontman Eddie Hermida following the tragic death of Mitch Lucker. On Nov. 1, 2012, Lucker was declared dead following a motorcycle crash the night before. Later that day, Lucker’s wife revealed that he had been drinking before going out for a ride and that she had begged him to stay home instead.
The album, which can be seen as a comeback of sorts, marked a new chapter in the band’s growing legacy. The 2014 disc saw the band’s highest chart position to date, coming in at No. 16 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.
Suicide Silence are currently on tour supporting Korn. The nu-metal pioneers are playing their debut album, Korn, in full each night as they embark on a month-long run throughout the U.S. To see a full list of dates, click here.
