With an upcoming tour and a recently vacated guitar slot, Suicidal Tendencies have added more veteran star power to their ranks, enlisting Ben Weinman of The Dillinger Escape Plan, who retired in late 2017. The new recruit enters on the heels of Jeff Pogan's departure, which came yesterday (July 2) after two years of service.

The eight-date run kicks off on July 15 at the INKcarceration Festival in Ohio and will cross the northern border into Canada for the remainder of the jaunt. "SxTx is getting ready to take off for the July tour dates. Speaking of flying, we're extremely honored and SToked to have the insane Ben Weinman playing guitar for us on these shows," reads a Tweet from the crossover thrash icons. "Hope you are ready for this! Thanks for the support and SEE YOU IN THE PIT!"

Weinman was succinct in commenting on being the latest addition to Suicidal Tendencies, stating he is excited at the opportunity to play with his "childhood favorites." The door opened after Pogan quit the group, citing "personal reasons" as reported by Dying Scene.

Rounding out Weinman in the lineup is Mike Muir (vocals), Dean Pleasants (guitar), Ra Díaz (bass) and Slayer legend Dave Lombardo (drums). The group has been promising a new studio album will arrive later this year, following up the Get Your Fight On! EP which was released in March, despite speculation from Muir that Suicidal Tendencies' 2016 album, World Gone Mad, could possibly be their last full length effort.
