Stone Sour’s Corey Taylor Laughs at Himself and Apologizes After Addressing Idaho Crowd by Wrong State

What’s worse than introducing the wrong song onstage? Addressing the crowd by the wrong state! It’s a mistake that has been made seemingly by any singer who has been on the road for nearly two decades. For Stone Sour‘s Corey Taylor, it was just the second time in his career that he had erred when he addressed the Oregon Pocatello, Idaho crowd on June 26.

In the video above, Taylor engages the crowd between songs, stating, “So let me ask you one more f–king time — Oregon, is that you?! It’s very f–king good to be here for the first time with Stone Sour. Did you miss Stone Sour in Oregon?” The kicker? This was the second consecutive date in Idaho, the first being in Nampa, which is closer to the Idaho / Oregon border. Pocatello lies east of Nampa with Wyoming and Utah being the nearest states. Also, Oregon is not on Stone Sour’s current tour routing. Oops!

The band tore into “Made of Scars” off 2006’s Come What(ever) May. After the song was finished, Taylor realized he had made a mistake and offered up an apology to the fans, laughing along the way. As seen in the video below, the frontman said, “You know what’s funny? I’ve been doing this a long f–king time. This is the second time I’ve done this.” Correcting himself, he screamed, “Idaho, is that you?!” The crowd responded with an overwhelming roar and the singer continued, “I am so f–king sorry, my friends. Jesus Christ. Come on, make some noise, get it out of your f–king system. Let me hear it!”

“I tell you what, I just made Islander and Korn look really good tonight,” joked Taylor, speaking about Stone Sour’s tourmates. The band is currently on the road providing support for Korn (who are promoting one of 2016’s best metal albums, The Serenity of Suffering) and a list of remaining stops can be seen at this location. Meanwhile, Stone Sour are touting their newly released Hydrograd record and our review of the album can be read here.
