Stone Sour

Now that Slipknot are on hiatus, vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root are getting ready to wrap up their third studio album with their other band Stone Sour, 'Audio Secrecy,' and start touring.

The group is currently putting the finishing touches on the disc with produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones, Alice in Chains), and the album is scheduled for summer release. According to Taylor, it will be the band's most eclectic offering to date.

"'Audio Secrecy' is the summation of everything we want, everything we crave and everything we fight for," said Taylor. "The dimensions go further than anything we've ever tried before. It's metal, rock, slow, soft, hard, fast, bitter, beautiful and most importantly, it's real. You can't get an album like this out of a band that doesn't exist. We're throwing caution out the damn window."

Stone Sour will perform selections from the album on their upcoming shows on the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. The event will be co-headlined by Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold and also features Halestorm, Hellyeah, Airbourne, Hail the Villain and New Medicine. The 36-date tour launches Aug. 17 in Minneapolis and runs through Oct. 4 in Madison, Wis. Tickets go are available at www.RockstarUproar.com and www.livenation.com.
