Chris Cornell is mellowing out for the last part of 2013 after his killer shows with Soundgarden. The singer has announced an extensive North American acoustic tour this fall, dubbed the Second Songbook Tour. His first Songbook Tour was in 2011.

“This is the first time North American fans will hear acoustic arrangements of songs from 2012’s critically-acclaimed ‘King Animal,’ Soundgarden’s first new studio album in over 16 years,” it says in Cornell’s website news section. American/Sri Lankan folk artist Bhi Bhiman is the support act.

One dollar of every ticket sold on the tour will be donated to The Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, which he formed with his wife in late 2012 with a mission to protect vulnerable children. A portion of the proceeds will benefit ChildHaven’s Creative Music Therapy Program Expansion.

According to his web site, fan presale runs from Aug. 14, 10AM – Aug. 15, 10PM with further details to be posted shortly. American Express cardholder members will also get the opportunity to pre-purchase tickets on Aug. 14; venue pre-sales open Aug. 15 and public sale begins Aug. 16 at 10AM local time.
