Smashing Pumpkins Offer Free Interactive Concert Viewing Party

The Smashing Pumpkins are digging into the archives for the upcoming 'The Aeroplane Flies High' CD/DVD release and they're doing something special this weekend to promote the effort -- staging an online interactive viewing party of one of their concerts.

The virtual event will take place over a 24-hour period beginning Saturday (July 20) at 9PM ET / 6PM PT. Smashing Pumpkins fans will be able to join the interactive viewing party, which showcases a fully re-mastered July 4, 1997 performance from Belfort, France. The group is teaming with Milyoni and Universal Music Enterprises to provide the show, which can be accessed via the Smashing Pumpkins' Facebook page.

Using Miyoni's #SocialVideo Platform, fans will be able to connect with other viewers while enjoying the socially interactive concert experience. The platform will allow for live chats, time-released Social Widgets, exclusive images, trivia, polls and video clips that may be shared on social networks.

The Smashing Pumpkins' 'The Aeroplane Flies High' fully-remastered reissue arrives on July 23 in a variety of multi-format options. The box set may be pre-ordered here.
