Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor is one of the busiest men in rock and someone recently took advantage of that fact to rob the vocalist while he was away from home. The Des Moines Register reports that the singer lost $36,000 worth of musical equipment in a robbery that took place this past Sunday (July 7).

While Taylor is no doubt upset that some of his equipment is gone, the frontman has to be devastated that two bass guitars owned by his longtime friend and late Slipknot bassist Paul Gray were among the items taken.

The singer may have an idea who took the instruments, as he reportedly told police that a friend stole the equipment while he was on tour in Europe. One friend reportedly told Taylor's wife that she believed the suspect had been stealing equipment from the couple's home and storage units. Meanwhile, another friend alerted them of their suspicions when they heard the suspect asking to buy equipment back from a local guitar store. A third friend was able to identify some of Taylor's equipment at the store, and the manager has been storing the stolen items while attempting to track down the other equipment that had already been sold.

According to the West Des Moines police department, some of the stolen property has been recovered, but it is not clear which items are still missing. At press time, no charges had been made in the case.
