The mighty Slipknot put a lot into their albums and into their shows, so it only makes sense that a respite is in order after all the touring promotion is done. And while there have been rumors of the band pursuing new music, frontman Corey Taylor reveals in a new interview that there will likely be a break before they return with a new album.

"I mean we're gonna finish touring and then we're gonna take a couple of years off again to, kind of, let everything chill," Taylor tells Rocksverige in the video above. "I'm gonna go do my thing, [and] everybody else's gonna go kind of do their thing. I know Clown's got movies that he wants to make, which is very cool. He just wrapped his first feature a couple of months ago, which I'm pretty stoked for him about. So everybody is gonna kind of go do their thing, and then, in a couple of years, we'll get back together and see what happens again."

Taylor says this has kind of been the status quo for Slipknot over the years is that there was always time to pursue other projects between albums, but there would always be a plan to reunite after a couple of years and he feels that is what will happen after the .5: The Gray Chapter support ends.

The good news for Slipknot fans is that there's still plenty of life left in .5: The Gray Chapter. The band just released a video for their latest single "Killpop." And they'll be heading up the "Summer's Last Stand" tour package in North America starting July 24 in West Palm Beach, Fla. Lamb of God, Bullet for My Valentine and Motionless in White will be joining them. Dates can be found here.
