Ghost are building up to their third album, Meliora, and while there is great anticipation amongst many in the metal community, don't expect to see Slayer's Kerry King rushing out to pick up a copy.

The guitar legend has a mixed view on the masked metal outfit. In an interview with Artisan News Service, he states, "I love the imagery … I just hate the f---ing music." King goes on to add that while he likes the band members as people and has toured with them, he's just not a fan of their sound. "I wanna like 'em, and I can't," says King.

He adds, "I know Ghost is hugely popular, and I’m very happy for their popularity, and like I said, the nicest guys you'll ever meet. It's just not my music, and I've tried so hard."

Ghost's Meliora album will arrive on Aug. 21 and fans of the band are already warming to the new single and video for "Cirice." Look for the group returning stateside for a North American trek. Dates can be found here.

Slayer, meanwhile, are currently rocking the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival this summer. See our recap of their performance in San Bernardino, Calif. here. The group is also building toward the Sept. 11 release of their new album Repentless. A visualizer clip for the title track can be viewed here.
