When you're creeping up on 30 years of bandhood, you tend to collect a ton of defining moments. However, Slayer's Kerry King was able to dissect one moment that he felt was truly definitive for the band.

"There are a number of them, but the big one was the first time we played what used to be Donington and is Download now," King told Noisecreep. "That was 1994. When you are a U.S. metal band and you read European mags, you read about Donington every year and it seems so massive."

He continued, "We didn't know what to expect, since we had nothing like it here; not even Ozzfest at the time. It was a defining moment getting on that bill, and we killed it."
